Gold-en Rules of Promoting Newsletter #7
(Gold-en Rules of Promoting "3 Ways to go on Spring Break for Free")
March 5 , 2007
Hey,
As you may know, I started throwing parties in my part-time
just so I could afford to go away on Spring Break. I was able
to put together enough money in a short amount of time to pay
for my trip to Cancun, Mexico.
Well, I've been getting lots of emails from readers that are
looking to do the same...here's an example:
**************************************************
Hi David,
I'm a student at Michigan State University and I wanted to
promote parties just like you so I can pay for my Spring Break.
Maybe if i like it I will do more when I'm back. Can you tell
me how you did it?
Thanks much!
Kelly M.

Since Spring Break (A.K.A March Break, Easter Break etc) is
quickly approaching, it would be tough to organize and promote
a couple of parties in enough time to pay for Spring Break this
year.
But the good news is...if you're a late starter like Kelly,
all hope is not lost---I have 3 ways you can still go on
Spring Break without it costing you a dime!
#1) Be a Spring Break College Campus Rep:
There are many companies that put together Spring Break
packages that make it easy for college kids to go away on
Spring Break. Most of these companies count heavily on other
college kids to go around and sell their trips to their
classmates on campus.
If you become a Campus Rep, and sell around 15 trips, you
can qualify for a free trip for yourself.
Now 15 trips might sound like a lot a first, but it's not as
hard as you might think. Typically, you will find that
groups of people will decide to go to one destination
together...rather than 1 or 2 people picking a place, you get
huge groups of guys and girls all deciding on one location
collectively.
So you might have 20 of your friends from one frat or
sorority going to one place, and if you got them to just book
it all through you, then your trip is paid for!
And since most college kids are pretty lazy, it's not a hard
sale for you to convince your friends and classmates to let
you book the trip and handle everything for them.
#2) You personally organize a trip for all of your friends:
Take some initiative and organize a trip for a group of people
to go to one location and YOU cut the deal with the place so
that YOUR trip is paid for.
For example, if you have a bunch of friends that want to go
away to Tahoe to go Skiing for the weekend, you should
volunteer to organize it for everyone (most people are very
lazy and will be GLAD to have someone that is willing to
organize their trip).
Then call up a bunch of places and negotiate a package with
them. Tell them you are bringing X amount of people and are
staying X amount of time and see what kind of deal you can get.
Most places will give you a MUCH better rate when you are
coming as a group...then divide the price by however many
people you have going but NOT including yourself.
This doesn't take too much work on your part, just a little
initiative and you'll have your vacation totally paid for!
#3) Throw a Party at your Spring Break location:
Take advantage of the enormous number of kids that go to the
hot Spring Break locations and throw your own party!
Be pro-active and organize a party for 1 or 2 of the nights
for where ever you're going to be and promote it BEFORE you
go away!
An example of this would be, if you're going down to Florida
and you know that half your college is going, along with 10
other colleges that are also on Spring Break that week, then
call around to the local clubs at these venues and organize a
night that you can throw a party.
All the clubs and bars know that 1,000's of college kids
are coming down and they are all competing with each other
those weeks to throw the best parties.
Tell the venues that you are coming down from "ABC University"
and you're promoting the party heavily at school ahead of time
so you're expecting to easily pull 300-500 people and see if
you can get a list at the place. (note: the first place you
call might not give you a list, but there are plenty of places
competing for the same business, so call a few spots if you
have to...I've ALWAYS been able to find a place to do my
party at).
Then begin promoting the party on campus ahead of time so that
everyone from your school knows to go to your spot on a certain
night because everyone from your school is going to be there!
Nobody knows where to go when they are on Spring Break, people
just follow each other out at night, so if you just plan ahead,
you'll be able to get HUGE amounts of people to your party...
Think about this...If you get $5/person that shows up on your
list you could easily take in $1,500 for one nights party...which
means you just made enough for your trip right there!!!
Now, if you're not in college don't think that
Spring Break doesn't apply to you! If you live in an area
that many people visit for Spring Break, you can really cash
in...
I have a close friend that graduated college 10 years ago but
lives in South Beach and promotes his parties to college kids
that are coming to South Beach for their Spring Breaks.
He finds out what colleges are going to be on Spring Break
each week and advertises his parties in the college newspapers
and on their websites and earns over $10,000 each March/April
just from Spring Breakers!
Spring Break is coming up fast, so if you're looking to go away
without breaking the bank or want to throw some parties to profit
on 1,000's of college kids going crazy...i suggest getting
started right now so you don't miss out!
